I started my design career on the drawing board, with set squares, pens, paints and markers. But computerisation has gradually taken much of the ‘craft’ out of industry, so some fourteen years ago, I hung up my pencils in order to pursue a career in decorating.
I like to think I can offer a decorating service with a difference. The design industry equipped me with some key qualities that I could carry over to decorating; attention to detail, good hand skills, confident use of colour and tone, appreciation of light and balance.
And having spent the first half of my working life not being a tradesman, I realise that when you’re working in a client’s home how important it is to be polite, punctual, reliable and to clean up at the end of the day.
